Well this month sure is off to a bang! Ryan started work on March 1st, and he is really enjoying it. He loves learning, so this is perfect for him!! However, we needed to get him some overalls so he wouldn't freeze every morning at 7 am ( or this lovely snowstorm that hit late this week). When I was talking about this to my parents, they sweetly offered to gift them to him. So I surprised him with a trip to Cabelas ( who knew that a sporting goods store would be SO awesome!!) to look for some. They only had a few that weren't camo, but hey at least we got some good pics and bison burgers ( that's right-- bison). This first picture is for you, Mom, cuz I know how much you appreciate beautiful public bathrooms. This next one is what happens when you don't see the "short" cut on the tag. Well, mostly when you're 6'4". So we left Cabela's and went to this store callled Cal-Ranch, in American Fork. We found a ton there, and also BABY CHICKS!! It was hilarious they had these little boxes that looked like Chinese take-out and you could just scoop up however many chicks you wanted and put them in a box and take them to the register. So priceless. We finally got Ryan some, and he looks so bonafide!! But this was not the end of our adventures, no siree. Have you ever had the feeling that you really needed to change your hair? Like, you realize that you put your hair into a bun EVERY day, cuz you don't like how it looks down, and it annoys you? Well, after this eiphany, I decided to take the plunge and get my hair cut short. And I don't mean to brag, but I really do. I love it!! I went to Element Salon in Orem-- gotta put in a plug for Kirsten, she did an amazing job. I must admit there are some weird things about this cut for me; for one, I had to get a flat iron. I never thought I would see the day. But it is pink, and part of the proceeds went to breast cancer research. That usually will prompt me to buy one produc t over the other ( cough cough marketing majors). The other thing is that I was in the shower today, and my hair just ended. It is the weirdest feeling in the world. But hey, my shampoo will last longer. I feel more grown up, and best of all-- NO SPLIT ENDS!!!Here are some pics of it:Yeah so that's most of it, except that I just got some big news: B-Money is in my ward-- NO JOKE!! This mostly applies to people from the Provo/Orem area, but you can look him up on YouTube apparently. Ryan told me today lol small world.

Catch-Up!

Sorry it's been so long since we last posted-- things have been a little crazy!! So, in recent news.... RYAN GOT A NEW JOB!! He will be working for Taylor electric (http://www.taylor-electric.com/index.php) and it's gonna be awesome!! He'll be working in his field, earning more money, and his first job is at BYU!! What could be more perfect!Plus, he gets a pay raise every six months. So, in summary, awesome. It starts at 7 in the morning though, so hello early morning showers at the RB!
In other news, I went to the dentist. And it would be completely ordinary, except that I came home and, in Ryan's words, " looked like a stroke victim." See if you agree...



I was trying to smile. Apparently Novacaine was against that idea.


Finally, we cleaned out our fridge. And found the rest of our Tupperware.




O the things that newly-married people deal with. What a life.

Back to the Grind

Well school has started up again-- We're excited but at the same time, it was SO hard to get up this morning. I finished up the semester with a 3.74, so I'm pretty excited about that, and Ryan got an A and a B and passed his state step-up exam! So things are looking great. O and we are in the process of redecorating our apartment! Nothing major, cuz we can't paint or anything like that, but we have curtains now, and a coffee table, and a really cute bed/bath color scheme. And thanks to Linda, we have a sewing machine that can save us a lot of money! I think my first project will be a bedskirt ( a simple one, nothing too crazy) cuz its all straight lines. And we are taking our computer to BYU IT Tech and exchange it for another one-- our computer says it's connected at 100 Mbps, but our Internet will not load. So we think it's the computer's fault. I get SO mad at it!!

Life

Yesterday at church two women announced they were prego in relief society, and i was like I want one!! But reality check: I am twenty years old, I have 3 and 1/2 years of school left, and we live in an one- bedroom, essentially three room apartment! Maybe its the stress of finals, but i want to be done with school, have kids, have a house, be working in speech therapy, and have ryan come home every day from doing what he loves. But I know that this is a special time in our marriage-- but i keep thinking about the future. Does anyone else ever feel this way? Well that is my ranting for now... merry christmas!!

Finals: The Saga

Well this is our first finals week together, and I must say, we are plodding through it. Ryan did great, of course :P-- he passed his state electrician exam, and got a 99% in his math class!! Yeah!! I'm super proud of him. My finals are going better than expected-- I am 4 for 6, except that I live off of a jump drive. For some reason our home computer has decided that it is just too pretty to work or something, and will take days to load ANYTHING. Except off of a flash drive. Can you tell i'm a little irked? I was trying to order something online while studying, but that just DID NOT work out, so at 8:30 Ryan and I went to the BYU Computer Lab, where of course everything worked fine. But I still haven't got enough studying in. It's funny how when you want to throw your computer out the window you can't really focus on language development. But I am determined!! The saga will go on!! So I will probably edit this on Friday, if I am still alive :P Adios!!

O Christmas Tree!

So I know we're a little behind, but we finally got our Christmas tree!! It is so cute-- it's like five feet tall. The guys at the lot were so nice-- they even tied it down to our car ( Ryan was super excited that he didn't have to-- it was SO cold!)It looked pretty small compared to the other trees on the lot, but once we got into our closet apartment it looked huge!! Right now all we have is a star on the top, cuz we couldn't find/ needed more lights. And it turns out that a twenty-foot garland will not wrap nicely around a five-foot tree. So decorating will commence later. But for now, enjoy the pics of our First Christmas Tree!!

Fun Sunday

So this is mostly for my own memory, but I thought I would write it on my blog. So yesterday in church, we were sitting behind a family with six kids, all pretty young. There were three boys, and the dad was making paper airplanes. Well he was making one for one boy, and fixing another to look like his brothers' ( cuz it was cooler) when suddenly the first boy got upset and elbowed his brother. The dad then crumpled up both planes, and took the boy to the foyer to scold him. Well the other ( innocent) boy was just devastated, and started to cry. The poor mom was across the pew, with a baby and a little girl on her lap, and two kids inbetween, unable to comfort him. I look over at Ryan, who is already folding his program into an airplane. He reached over the pew and gave it to the little boy, who looked at him, and then stopped crying. Ryan continued to play with the two boys, making another paper airplane for another brother and one of those fortune-teller things that were so popular in grade school. But after the song, Ryan told both boys to turn around and fold their arms and close their eyes, which they both did. Haha it was so awesome!! The mom was so thankful. Yeah team Cole!
